Job Description:

The client is in need of a Wireless Communications Systems Engineer to develop enabling technology for the next generation of digital signal processing products for 2.5 and 3G wireless communication systems.


Responsibilities



  • Design and define requirements for various mobile wireless communications products and/or preparing studies and analyzing existing systems.
  • Determine systems specifications, architecture design, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
  • Conduct feasibility studies on engineering proposals.
  • Apply extensive expertise to creatively solve difficult and challenging problems and develop solutions, which may require extensive investigation.
  • Help coordinate simulation analysis, design of subsystems and integration of total system.
  • Communicate routinely with cross-functional team members to solve problems and present information.
  • Actively participate in working groups, providing ideas and helping to achieve teamwork.
  • Determine best approach to solve problems, modify existing processes, procedures or methods to develop solutions.
  • Plan and monitor effective development and implementation of highly complex projects.


Qualifications:




  • MS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent preferred.
  • 8-10 yrs overall experience in wireless communications systems design & development involving DSP and ASIC design for small handheld consumer devices with at least 4 - 5 yrs experience developing mobile wireless communications systems based on the GSM, cdma2000, or UMTS standards.
  • Successfully developed algorithms, and mapped them into hardware and/or DSP software on industry leading solutions.
  • Hands-on experience in taking a product through all phases of a development cycle from concept to design and field test.
  • Familiarity with system design techniques, and ability to utilize software, hardware trade-offs in system design.
  • A thorough understanding of the entire process of modem design from algorithm specification to VLSI architecture definition (including HW and SW programmers model)
  • Familiarity with assembler programming and structured program development using languages such as C and C++, RTOS application, implementation of finite state machines, data structures, and system application development.
  • Familiarity with formal software development tools and the features/benefits of the toolsets.
